Tvilum is one of the world's largest furniture manufacturing companies. It has many factories across the world which produces around 8 million items of furniture annually, for sale around the globe. Its factory headquarters and administration office is located in Denmark. The company was founded in 1965 and has undergone some mergers since its formation which have driven the company into its current leading international position.
The renowned furniture group has taken another bold step to establish a production plant in Poland. No doubt, this move is a result of the company’s aggressive growth strategy in several new global markets, which has led to an increasing demand for the group’s furniture.
According to its CEO Andrew Long, “The reason for the establishment in Poland is that we come closer to our customers in Europe, who account for more than 60 % of our revenue. This will ensure our competitiveness and make us a more sustainable, financially strong and profitable business,”
The company’s new production facilities are scheduled to be ready in the town of Szczecinek in western Poland, and it is expected to provide over 80 jobs. The production plant will be placed close to Kronospan, which is Tvilums largest raw material supplier of chipboard, and the close neighborhood will in no doubt reduce transport costs and ease production.
The Company's CEO has emphasized that the Polish expansion should be seen as a proactive action and an investment in the future growth of the company as it will continue to maintain production in Denmark in the years to come. As a global company, Tvilum has offices in the USA, Russia, Dubai, South America, Australia and at several European locations.
