Mlekpol has just announced that the European Investment bank has approved a €50million loan to allow the company to modernise and grow. The largest dairy cooperative in Poland is just one 12 plants located in Poland and this recent cash injection will allow a series of investments in growth and development. The company has benefited from the Investment Plan for Europe and the European Fund for Strategic Investment.
Along with modernisation and expansion comes with the ability to process much larger quantities of fresh milk and Mlekpol says this will help offset any seasonal issues with milk supply. A new warehouse and logistics centre will form part of the expansion funded by the EIB and aims to make the company's delivery and storage facilities more efficient. Finally, Mlekpol's Grajewo-based wastewater treatment plant will also benefit. Running from bio-gas, the new combined heat and power plant means that not only will the company no longer have to purchase electricity but will also reduce sludge production.
