Financial support with the injection of working capital are among the EBRD’s priority measures in Ukraine to help large and SEM firms overcome the hurdles caused by Covid-19 pandemic.
The EBRD is extending a €3 million euro loan to Swedish owned Lantmännen Axa, a major manufacturer of breakfast cereals in Ukraine that is owned by Sweden’s largest agribusiness cooperative, Lantmännen.
The European bank of development funds will ensure the company has financial stability, allowing Lantmännen Axa to invest in a project to expand its product range, The companies main products at the moment are muesli, granola and cereal bars, Lantmännen Ukraine will also focus on better energy efficiency as well as in the future plans to increasing its production capacity.
This loan is the second time the EBRD has invested in Lantmännen the first was in 2018. Japan-EBRD Cooperation Fund will provide Technical assistance to support this load and the cereal producer company in Ukraine.
