Within the next year or two, the Russian government fully expects operations to start within a brand new plywood production facility in the Kirov region. Located in the Republic of Komi, SevLesPil has invested around $60 million which equates to RUB 4 billion.
Recently, Igor Vasilyev, a governor within the region, visited the site and the company suggested that 80% of the basement had been completed. Furthermore, around half of the work was done on the first section assembly. In order for electricity to reach the plant, the company is currently arranging the correct documentation. Finally, the investor has had the site prepared for the purchasing of equipment and construction of a boiler.
If all goes to plan, the first product which will be large birch plywood should be processed towards the end of 2017. Upon completion, over 400 people will be employed at the location.
