With their production site in Slovakia, Mondi has announced plans to invest in the construction of a new 300ktpa Kraft top white machine. Although this makes up the bulk of the investment, there are also various other mill upgrades and the total investment comes to over €300 million as long as the European Commission approve the tax incentives and the appropriate permits are obtained. As of summer 2017, the company has applied for the permits required.

As one of Mondi’s biggest plants, ‘Mondi SCP’ can be found in Ruzomberok. Not only is it important for the company, it’s also important for the Slovak Republic since it is unique in size for an integrated paper and pulp production facility. Each year, the facility can produce 66,000 tonnes of paper packaging, 560,000 tonnes of uncoated fine paper, and 100,000 tonnes of market pulp.
