The Romanian environmental NGO “Agent Green” has published a study on the performance of the international wood processing companies located in Romania. This study evaluated the measures used by Egger, Holzindustrie Schweighofer, IKEA, JF Furnir(Holver), Kronospan, Expansion, Kastamonu, Losan, massiv, Success and Yildiz Entegre to combat the prevalence of illegal logging activities in the country. According to the reports, the only companies that responded with full cooperation to this initiative facilitated by “Agent Green” are Egger, Holzindustrie Schweighofer, IKEA, JF Furnir, and Kronospan. Agent Green has defined its goals as the need to determine which of the 11 companies that have been evaluated apply substantial measures to combat the phenomenon of illegal logging in the country, and in particular to support the provision of better protective measures for the Romanian national parks.
