Ford Otosan's facility in Craiova is set to commence the production of the latest Transit and Tourneo Courier models, adding to the Puma lineup, as reported by Ziarul Financiar.

Earlier this year, the Craiova branch of Ford Otosan had already initiated the assembly of the inaugural units of the refreshed Tourneo Courier. By the latter half of July, dealerships began accepting bookings for the models crafted in Craiova. The formal production rollout of the updated Transit and Tourneo Courier is slated for later this year. Additionally, anticipation is building for the launch of their electric variants, projected for the latter half of 2024.

To accommodate this production boost, Ford Otosan disclosed plans to onboard an additional 1,300 staff members in Craiova in 2023. This recruitment drive is set to augment the workforce count to 6,500, in line with the projected production capacity hike from 250,000 units to 272,000 units.
