CTi Cable (Ching Tai Electric Wire & Cable), a major Taiwanese producer of high-performance cables and interconnect technologies, has officially opened its first European manufacturing plant in Czechia. The new facility will supply advanced components for artificial intelligence systems, autonomous vehicles, aerospace, healthcare equipment, and industrial automation. The project was developed with substantial support from CzechInvest, which assisted CTi from the early investment evaluation phase through to site selection in Klecany, near Prague.
The new subsidiary, CTi Europe s.r.o., plans to become a leading supplier to European high-tech industries. The CZK 120 million investment creates a technological hub designed to meet the region’s demand for reliability, precision, and fast delivery.
“Czechia offers the ideal combination of a central European location, excellent infrastructure, and strong expertise in mechanical and electrical engineering,” said Sunny Lin, Vice President of CTi Europe. “These advantages allow us to serve European customers efficiently while expanding our innovation capacity in cooperation with local specialists.”
A Major Boost for Czech-Taiwanese Technological Cooperation
The investment builds on a growing track record of joint Czech-Taiwanese projects in microelectronics and IT. Located in the P3 Logistic Park Prague D8 in Klecany, the new plant strengthens Europe’s supply chain for high-tech components and reinforces Czechia’s position as a key innovation hub in electrical engineering, smart systems, and precision manufacturing.
The production line will manufacture HDMI, USB, DisplayPort, Ethernet and other advanced connectivity solutions using fully digitised, data-driven processes focused on quality, accuracy, and energy efficiency. The facility will employ around 50 new staff.
“CTi’s investment brings high added-value know-how and strengthens sectors where Czechia has deep industrial traditions, including precision engineering, electrical systems, and mechatronics,” said Jan Michal, CEO of CzechInvest. “It also reflects the growing confidence of Taiwanese technology firms in the Czech innovation environment.”
A Strategic Expansion by Taiwanese High-Tech Companies
Taiwanese manufacturers are increasingly expanding into Central Europe as they seek resilient supply chains and closer proximity to European clients.
“Taiwan and Czechia share a strong industrial heritage and a forward-looking approach to innovation and sustainability,” noted Remus Li-Kuo Chen, representative of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Prague. “Investments like CTi Europe bring cutting-edge technologies, create new jobs, and deepen bilateral cooperation.”
CzechInvest played a critical role in making the investment possible, providing analytical data, coordinating legal and investment advice, supporting the selection of Klecany as the optimal location, and helping with visa processes for specialised foreign staff.
“This project confirms the rising interest of Taiwanese companies seeking a modern technological base for entering European markets,” said Gabriela Bauerová, Director of CzechInvest’s Investment Development Department. “CzechInvest’s targeted support significantly strengthens foreign investor confidence.”
